The Rosie Lynn Pass-It-On Campaign
Butterflies are remarkable for the beauty that they bring to the world, but also for the transformation that they must undergo to become beautiful. It is in the darkness of the cocoon that they become something new and their struggle to emerge from the cocoon is the very thing that prepares the butterfly to fly.
On May 27th, 2018 my daughter Evelyn Rose was born with the sunrise. In her presence several things became very clear to me: she was absolutely beautiful, I loved her, she was here to make the world a better place, and I would never let her go. On August 12th, 2018 she was carried from this world and taken back into the light of Heaven after only two and a half short months in my arms.
Her departure from this life into the next left something behind. As immediate as she was gone, so the roses came pouring down from Heaven. It was clear to me that I was seen, heard, and loved despite my best efforts to feel small and insignificant. Life, faith, and love in my tiny world were being renewed in the midst of great tragedy. The tenderness with which our Lord and his helpers have handled me in these times will forever take my breath away.
By coming here to be with us for this short time, my little butterfly set off a flutter within my heart. She left a message. It was a lesson to live in faith and be grateful. It was the strength to heal and transform. It was permission to be still and know that I am enough. It was a reminder of who I truly am and a responsibility to share because it was not a message for me alone.
Evelyn is a healer and I hope that today through this cause, I can succeed in blessing you with her presence, as I have been blessed.
Over and over I hear there is so much wrong with the world today and of these being such terrible times. I hear us crying out for hope when so much feels hopeless. We are afraid to flap our wings and find that alone our efforts amount to nothing. So, I suggest we spread the good news that we are not without hope and that when we flap our wings together, we do make a difference.
Our beautiful home which has sustained us and our ancestors, is now dying a painful death. We all suffer right along with her. We are each responsible, and it is time to give back. I ask you please, to help me light a candle of hope, one person, one family at a time for a better future and see how far our message will travel.
I believe we can light up the world.
I am only a stay at home mother with several little ones to care for everyday, which means I have inadequate free time and not much influence in the world outside my home. I do however have the most important things which are: a deep love for ALL of our children, a responsibility to assure that they are safe, and a passionate heart that is willing to stand up and humbly ask everyone to help. Alone I can do nothing, but if we all flap our butterfly wings together, we can start a mighty hurricane, saving our children and our children's children from a world where there ARE NO MORE butterflies.
We can give life. We can share love. We can spread hope.
When her 1st birthday arrives and Evelyn is not here to tear into her first slice of cake, I will do my best to spend the day celebrating in faith that, regardless of how long a life is, every life has a purpose, and every child who is taken too soon is loved for a lifetime and beyond. Regardless of how short her life was, her presence here can change not only me, but my family; not only you, but your families, and the course of history yet to come, for the better.
If we don't stand up for change today, tomorrow may be too late.
Whether big or small, every donation makes a difference. Every contribution matters.
Evelyn was responsible for the first flutter and the rest is up to us. This campaign is for you and for me, for our families and our friends, for our youth, and for the generations yet to come.
Do not wait for the next great tragedy to set a flutter in your heart.
