Save the Orangutans! By: Lillian Wallace
You might not be concerned that the orangutans are endangered, but they play an important role in the forest. We need to save them.
First of all, orangutans disperse the seeds they eat, so they are reusing their food in a way. The seeds replant and grow for the orangutans and other animals to eat again.
Secondly, it takes 3-5 years for an adult female orangutan to give birth (only one baby is born at a time). This makes it hard to keep up the population.
Finally, the forest is their home, and we can not only save the orangutans, we can save the forest too! Recycle paper and plastic so no one has to cut down the trees. This helps everyone and everything!
As you can see, these beautiful creatures need to be saved. To donate go to the the WWF website. I hope you help me in saving the orangutans.
