For the past 50 years, WWF has worked around the world protecting our most beloved and endangered species, including tigers, rhinos, polar bears and pandas. But that work is in danger of unraveling due to the growing impacts of climate change. In every region of the U.S. and every corner of the planet, climate change is coming faster and hitting harder than predicted. It is one of the greatest threats to wildlife and nature.
In an engaging new video, America's next generation--the generation that will soon inherit this planet--issues an emotional plea for action on climate change to save the polar bears, the walruses and the planet. Click here to watch the video.
The stars of this video--children of WWF staff members--put the climate debate into stark context. For if we chose to ignore the climate threat, it will be up to them and their generation to pick up the pieces.
The children specifically call upon President Obama to personally attend the climate summit that will be held next month in Copenhagen, Denmark. There, representatives from 192 nations will gather to negotiate a global agreement to reduce emissions of carbon pollution and save our planet from the worst impacts of climate change.
Please, take a moment and watch the leaders of tomorrow explain why a global agreement on climate change is so critical to their future, our planet, and all its inhabitants. Watch the video now.
Thank you for your continued commitment to protecting the future of nature.
Sincerely,
Ginette Hemley Senior Vice President World Wildlife Fund
